Equilibrium Horse Center invites children to our Summer Horse Camp. Your children will spend their summer on Equilibrium's 80 acres enjoying the companionship of friends. They will be welcomed by the nickering of four-legged equine friends as well as knowledgeable counselors and other horse loving children 6 to 16 years of age.
Equilibrium offers a safe and enjoyable program for a small number of children who want intensive hands-on equine instruction.
Full-day campers will spend two hours a day riding in preparation for their final day when they will ride in a small competition.
Additional time is spent learning various aspects of stable management and horse care, and joining in other fun horse activities and games.
Individual Attention Camper groups are kept small so that each rider will benefit from close and careful attention by the director and her staff. After a required evaluation lesson, children will be assigned to a horse or pony best suited to their abilities and goals for their camp experience.
Our Facility The equestrian facility at Equilibrium Horse Center includes a large indoor arena, stables for over 50 horses and ponies, miles of wooded trails, and a lecture hall.
Our Camp Staff The Summer Camp program is directed by knowledgeable and college educated horsewomen with a support staff of additional grooms and instructors.
Equipment All campers will need a riding helmet with a harness. Equilibrium recommends U.S. Pony Club approved or AHSA approved hard hats. Children will also need hard-soled, enclosed shoes with a heel. Campers will be most comfortable in suitable riding pants (breeches, jodphurs, sweat pants, or loose fitting jeans) and cooler wear for dismounted activities.
Other Special Items Other items campers should bring daily are a small notebook, pencil, sunscreen, and bug spray. Campers should also bring a bag lunch and mid-morning or afternoon snacks. Cold drinks will be provided.
